Insurance For Your Boat

If you are a boat owner, an insurance policy is available for your boat and to protect you for liability which arises out of operation of the boat.

Some of the perils typically insured against include:

  • Fire, lightning and windstorm
  • Explosion, sinking or stranding
  • Theft, vandalism
  • Collision and damage while loading, unloading or launching
  • Highway collision or upset
Liability coverage generally covers the person named in the policy as the insured and any operator of the boat against Bodily Liability or Property Damage when the loss is caused by a covered peril.

Medical Payments coverage (if purchased) applies to persons aboard the boat, including skiers. Again, the loss must be caused by a covered peril.

If you're into boating, check with a Central Agent for further details about Central's preferred Boatowners Program.

The policy coverages described above are in the most general terms and are subject to the actual policy exclusions and conditions. For specific coverage details and policy exclusions, refer to the policy itself or contact a Central Agent.
