A Look At Central's History

Central Mutual is the parent company of the Central Insurance Companies. Central Mutual is over 130 years old and was incorporated in 1876 in Van Wert, Ohio. Another member of the Central group is All America Insurance Company, a wholly-owned stock company formed in 1961 in Van Wert. A third company, CMI Lloyds, is located in Dallas, Texas and is also affiliated with Central Mutual. The Central group also includes Central Insurex, an excess and surplus lines agency formed in 1978.

The Central group writes automobile, homeowners, and commercial lines coverages. Central conducts operations through independent agents writing business in 19 states. The group has claims, loss control and premium financing services available.
