150th Anniversary Celebration
In May 2026, Central marked 150 years with a gathering at our Home Office, bringing together employees, retirees, agents, and leadership to celebrate the relationships and shared purpose that have shaped our company. The celebration continued on June 2 with our Northeast Regional Office (NERO) anniversary event, with additional regional celebrations planned for our Southwest Regional Office (SWRO) on September 30 and Southeast Regional Office (SERO) on October 28.
This milestone is an opportunity to reflect on the people, values, and decisions that carried Central through generations of change while reaffirming our commitment to serving policyholders with integrity, care, and long-term perspective.
As we honor our history across each of our regions, we also look ahead to Central's next chapter—one defined by growth, innovation, and partnerships.

On April 17, 1876, the Van Wert County Mutual Fire Insurance Company officially opened its doors in downtown Van Wert, Ohio. What began as a small local mutual insurer serving farmers and neighbors would eventually grow into Central Insurance, expanding across the country while remaining proudly rooted in the same hometown where it all began 150 years ago.
